New road work, start to finish
We work from engineered drawings and surveyor stakes, but we also bring on-the-ground judgment. New subdivision streets, road extensions, internal HOA loops, and access roads for commercial and industrial sites. Whatever the project, we're on it from sub-grade prep through final lift.
Sub-grade and base: where roads actually fail
Most road failures don't start at the surface. They start in the dirt underneath. Soft spots, poorly compacted fill, and bad drainage all telegraph up through the asphalt within a few seasons. We dig the failures out, place engineered aggregate, and compact in lifts that meet density spec.
Designed for plows and freeze-thaw
A road in Western Colorado has to handle plow blades scraping the surface, water freezing inside cracks, and tandem-axle trucks loaded with material. We pave for that reality, proper mat thickness, sealed edges, and crowned cross-section so water leaves the road.
Coordinating with engineers and inspectors
We work alongside civil engineers, surveyors, and county or municipal inspectors. We document compaction, mat temperature, and density. The paperwork side gets handled the same way the work does, properly.
What's included on every job
- Pre-construction walk with engineer or developer
- Sub-grade prep, dig-outs, and engineered aggregate base
- Compaction in lifts to meet density specifications
- Crowned cross-section for proper drainage
- Mat thickness specced for traffic loads (passenger, truck, plow)
- Sealed edges against curbs, gutters, and adjacent surfaces
- Inspection-ready documentation throughout
A road is only as good as what's under it. We get the base right, then we pave.
